Celebrations all Around!

What an amazing weekend!! 2 exciting events to celebrate - my Dad's 65th Birthday and our engagement.

On Saturday, we had a bunch of family and friends over to my parents house for a double celebration. My dad turned 65 and we combined his birthday party with a little celebration for our engagement. It was such a great time and the weather was perfect. We got to enjoy being out on the front and back porches. We could only ask for such great weather on May 13! Thank you everyone for being there and thank you mom and dad for all you did to have such a great party.

My parents, especially my mom, really outdid themselves this weekend. The house looked amazing, of course, and we had so much yummy food! (specifically the homemade red velvet cake, just one of the 3 cakes my mom made). Mrs. Badger provided a whole bunch of balloons to decorate the outside of the house which was so nice. No one could miss where the party was!

On Sunday we went to a Crate and Barrel exclusive registry event and started our first gift registry. It was a lot of fun and we registered for some neat things (and some "extreme" gifts that we are not expecting at all, but just wanted to add to the "wow" gift list). They were making some yummy pumpkin pancakes, mimosa's and little munchies all for just a few couples who were there. It was fun because we had the WHOLE store to ourselves (for the most part) and got to scan whatever we wanted. This is something I will definitely look forward to doing. I'm pretty sure Robby really enjoyed it as well. He got the scanner toy and enjoyed finding items we could use.

We also picked up our pumpkins this afternoon. We have a busy week ahead but will get them carved before Halloween this weekend. On Wednesday we are meeting with the photographer that I know and should be able to set up a time for our engagement photos - finally. Definitely excited about that as I love her work and she is such a fun person to be around. Hopefully she can make us look great in all the pictures! She is having us fill out a mad lib before we come and we have to do them apart and not discuss them. I am so curious to see what she uses it for. Stay tuned....

I am continuing the Zumba dance classes this week. I had some knee issues last week and only got 2 classes in. Zumba has been so much fun and definitely a great stress reliever from work and wedding planning. Might be something I get more into after our 4 week session is over with. Robby is so close to finishing up the painting on his house. It looks amazing and I finally got some more pictures. Will post those this week to show the before and after.

We have another week ahead of us. My office is starting construction on Saturday (with fire marshall approval) so a few of us will be packing up on Friday so that we can either move to the temporary office or upstairs in the conference room. Not to excited about it but it should only be a few weeks and one of those weeks I will be out of town for a show. Can't believe the holidays are quickly approaching. I love this time of year but I am definitely not ready for all of it.

Again, taking one day at a time. We want to thank our families and friends again for such an amazing weekend. We love all of you and can't wait for the wedding.
