So it's Friday! Wooohoo. After a long day at work, I headed home to visit the pups, relax some before Robby gets home and then we are off on a date night to Pico, in Roswell. This place is sooo yummy! Really looking forward to going back. Just might have to order the cheese fritters we had at our rehearsal dinner.. mmmmm.
But on my way home, I never expected what happened, to have happened. Mr. Badger was over working on the shed, on his birthday mind you! I told him he didn't need to be over here on his special day. Crazy! But anyways, he came over and asked if we wanted to add another animal to our "farm" that we have already. I kinda looked at him crazy and wasn't to sure what he was talking about. Well, he showed me. It was a baby hawk trapped in a cinder block in our back yard. It's beautiful and its killing me seeing him trapped. Mr. Badger said he feed him some water and maybe to get him some food. I immediately ran inside and started doing research. With my company, we did a tradeshow that was bird related, especially wild birds - hawks, eagles, etc etc. Low and behold, the phone number that I called that I found on the interent was a lady that we worked very closely with at one of our Tradeshows here in Atlanta, who rescues owls, hawks, eagles, etc. She is a little interesting but loves these animals and really rehabs them to health and releases them if they can live on their own in the wild. Anyways, she basically told me not to touch him, feed him, or do anything. That the mother has to come get him and is probably training him fly or protect himself or he accidentally fell out of the nest. Anyways, so long story short, I really hope he can rescue himeself or the mother comes soon. I took a few pictures... see below. Its soo sad. I don't want to leave him there though. He is a gorgeous bird. Maybe tonight, where its dark and quiet he will find his way home. I'm going to go check on him in a little bit to see if he is at least out of the fenced area.
