Another Race

It's Sunday! I love Sundays, but there is a little bit of them that I dislike. I enjoy having a relaxing day, not necessarily doing anything, and it always seems like a long day. Soaking up those last hours of the weekend. But I dislike them because tomorrow is Monday, which means we have to get back to the work grind. blah.... What a great weekend it was here in Georgia. It's mid July, in the south and it's NEVER below 80 degrees from here until the end of August. But on Friday, a cold front came in and some rain so we were able to turn our air conditioner off and sleep with the windows open?!! Crazy, I know. I'm sure we were probably the only ones that did that, but I just love the smell of fresh air and hearing the crickets at night. Saturday was a busy day for us. Running errands and getting the dogs out. We introduced Bentley to our favorite place, the River, where we run, talk, relax and just spend a lot of our time together. I think he enjoyed it. We couldn't do the entire 3.1 loop because he is just not ready for all that but we did about 2 miles with him and Gracie. They were wiped out after wards. Which was good, but we had a bunch of errands to run with them, and it had gotten hot by then. But they were troopers. When we got home, they slept basically for the rest of the night. I think we need to do that more often!

This morning we got up bright and early, 5am, to head to Carrollton Ga for Robby's Triathlon. He did this one last year for the first time and its a pretty nice little sprint. Of course I tagged along to cheer him on and took Bentley with me. He did so well, very well behaved and loved all the attention he was getting. I don't think he was quick enough to see daddy run and bike by, but thats ok. Below are a few shots I got while we were there.

Thats Robby in the water, all you can see is his goggles and green swim cap.

Here is Robby coming out of the transition area and starting the bike ride

Coming in from the ride, on to the run

Headed up the worst part of the race, all up hill to the finish
Way to go honey!!! So proud of you. You did great :)
Re-hydrating after a long race. Official results are not in yet but we think he finished in 1 hour and 30 minutes, maybe a little quicker but still great!

Robby is training for a full ironman this fall and this was just a little help to get his body ready. Again, I think he is crazy but I know how important this is to him and one of his goals in life. I will be there all the way to support him. Just wish I had that motivation to keep running! I need to find mine again. The pups just keep me way to busy.

So the rest of our day was spent resting and working around the house. Seems like the usual around here. I love having guests stop by, it forces us to keep the house clean :) My parents and brothers are coming back form a trip to VA so they are going to bring Andrew and Matt by to see our place. Looking forward to seeing Andrew, since he lives in Kansas and all!!

What did you do this weekend? Anything exciting!? Hope everyone has a great week! I know we have a super busy one ahead.
