So a couple of things to update on this nasty, rainy miserable night here in Georgia. We are getting pretty bad storms but I am home safe and thought I would update this thing!! We actually have a few things to get excited about. Besides the fact that we will be married in almost 70 days... woohooo
I titled this blog entry Romancing the Bride because Primrose Cottage held their semi annual event last week. This is a great time for brides, grooms and their families to come check out Primrose, food, and how their wedding could be set up. We really didn't realize the extent that they were going to do with this event. I thought it was just for us to try some food and talk to people about our wedding. Well, if I wasn't sure about Primose now, I sure was after this event. They really pulled out the red carpet, seriously. They had the front lawn set up like a wedding, a small one, but it was gorgeous!! They had limo's out front, old cars, and people handing out hors d'œuvres. They welcomed you as you entered the home where they had more food, tons of hotel vendors, and pictures everywhere of weddings that have been held at Primrose. There was probably about 200 brides, grooms and families there taking part in this event. You then could walk through the house, downstairs to the bar, got a drink, more food, more vendors, SOOOO much fun!! I didn't even know where to start. I think I just kept turning my head and saying "oohh, look at that, oooh I want that at my wedding, etc" We then headed to the Ballroom which was the Grand finale. I really thought I was at a wedding reception. They had the buffet set up, food was AMAZING! tons of desert trays and so much more. It was crazy! Much much much more than we had expected. We got to meet our DJ that we chose, who just happened to be there. We also got to talk to some people about our honeymoon, tried some cake, sat outside in the wonderful weather. It was perfect. I wish we could do it over again. And I guess we will, on OUR wedding day!! I left there soooooo excited about the next few weeks and all the fun stuff we will be doing to get ready. I know its a lot but now I'm just so ready and know that its going to be beautiful. I just have to remember how fast its going to fly by, to soak up every moment as much as possible.
A week prior to this, we had our initial planning meeting with one of our event planners at Primrose. We chose our menu, went over the hourly schedule and discussed the way things are to go on the day of the wedding. We will have one more meeting with her in April to finalize the head count, go over last minute details and answer any questions we might have. I can't believe how quickly it will be here. Every day there is something we have to do. I am really looking forward to the warm spring weather that is hopefully here to stay! There was a minor freak out by me, of rain on our wedding day. And by minor, I mean not sleeping all night, having nightmares and panic attacks. The next morning I immediately looked on the farmers almanac to see what kind of weather May 13 has had over the past years. I guess this is when I should knock on wood, but I went back 5 years and none of them had rain. So, we are going with that!!
I wish I had some pictures of everything that has been going on these past few weeks now that we are in full force, but just haven't had time. There will be tons afterwards to show proof that it all happened!
Hopefully I will be able to keep up with this as we get closer. So stay tuned..
Next update...... Invitations and Cake Tasting!!! :)
