HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
Its definitely not fun having a Valentine's day on a slow Monday, beginning of the work week, after an amazing weekend. But, we have gorgeous weather here and we are going out to a low key dinner tonight so I think I can handle it.
Last night I decided to cook dinner. See, its a rare occasion for me to cook for Robby but I really really want to do it more often. And I guess as his soon, very soon, to be wife, that is something I should be contributing to the household. ha. My mom was and still is an amazing cook. I wish I would have gotten that from her. I think being single for so long, deciding what to eat every meal of the day and just living on a budge, I despise eating and cooking. Don't get me wrong, I love eating good food. And, I love when I cook something and it turns out delicious!! I have a few standard meals that I am pretty good at and enjoy cooking. But you can only have casserole's, chicken and Thanksgiving type of food so many times. Yesterday, Robby mentioned making a chicken lasagna, so I did some research for recipes online. I found a couple that I really liked so I just thought I would be adventurous and combine them all. This is huge because with the perfectionist I am, I HAVE to have a step by step recipe and ALL of the ingredients it calls for. But my little homemade lasagna turned out great! It made a lot so we have left overs for lunch almost all week. I don't think either of us are complaining though. I even did some photo shoots of the food. I get that obsessions from all the food blogs I read and my friends who are now blogging about their cooking. What I still can't figure out, is how women who work and have kids, are able to get home, fix a meal and still have time left in the day. I guess if I didn't go to the gym or zumba after work everyday and get home around 8pm, I could get more done. I guess that comes when I have more responsibilities. So for now, I will enjoy our bonding time that we have in the afternoons as well as all the wedding stuff and save the experimenting on the weekends. That way I will be ready when its time to cook every night.
Wedding Stuff - We are now 88 days away! As I mentioned before, I can tell we are definitely in crunch mode. Booked the videographer today and will be meeting with our minister next week, which means the invitations will be going out right after that. The flower girls have gotten their cute little dresses! On Saturday we will be meeting with our event planner at Primrose and will be hashing out some more details as well as deciding on some of the menu. Next week we get to go to Primroses event to taste the food and see decorations, ideas, etc. Really looking forward to that. Tonight, after our special Valentine's dinner, we will head over to help Mrs. Badger stuff some of the favors. Every day its something it seems. I'm enjoying it all because it just makes me realize how much closer we are to the big day and how I CAN NOT WAIT to be married.
Well, that is about all for now. I guess I better get back to work, or lack there of. Lots to do this week! Hope everyone has a great day and week!! Anybody out there (all 1 or 2 of you) have exciting plans for Valentine's Day or this week? :)
