Hot Air Balloon Ride

To continue our adventurous streak, we went on a tethered, hot air balloon ride this past weekend. There was a great SweetJack deal (same concept as Groupon) for a ride in a hot air balloon up at Cagle's Dairy Farm in Hickory Flat. We have been up to Cagle's every year since we started dating to do the corn maze and the "jumping thing" that we love so much. So when I saw this deal, I was all over it. Yes, it wasn't a full on balloon ride across the state, but we still went up pretty high and felt all the heat coming from the balloon. It was a pretty cool experience and now has us wanting to do a full on ride across the city or lakes or where ever we can find a place to launch. Anyways, this was just a quick little experience and I am so glad we did it. It was pretty funny as we walked up and saw the things it was tethered to. Now I don't know how much it would weigh, after it is blown up, add 4-6 people in there and then all the pressure and heat making it go up. One was the owners expedition, yes a car. All I could see is us going up in the balloon and the tail end of the car coming with us. lol thankfully that didn't happen. One was a huge rock, not huge enough in my eyes. Another one was a tractor and the final tethered item was the post on a fence. Yep, we were totally safe!! Definitely recommend doing this, even though it was tethered, it felt pretty cool going up and moving around in the air looking down at everything below, then coming back down and trying to get out of the basket while the balloon is still trying to float up. What an experience!
