Zip-lining.... our latest adventure

So we really need to give props to Groupon, Living Social, Crowd Cut, and any of the other awesome deals that we have gotten over the year. We have come to LOVE these things. No we aren't cheap, well sometimes we can be :), but these are really great deals and anyone who is stupid enough not to take advantage of these, then pass it along to us! We have been buying these things like crazy over the year and have gone to some great restaurants, I (Rachel) tried out Zumba which was awesome, got some great deals on pictures, canvas art, putt putt golf, beer tours, comedy club... and the list keeps going. Well the latest 2 deals that we have been really excited about have been our white water rafting trip down the Ocoee River and Zip-lining in the Ocoee River Basin.

I have been rafting down the Ocoee River about 10 times, maybe more and LOVE it. It's one of my favorite summer things to do. Robby has only been rafting out west in CO so I have been wanting to get him up to the Ocoee for awhile now. A normal half day trip runs $45-$55 depending on the company you go with and the time of year. Groupon came out with a deal for $20 or $25, can't remember exactly, so of course we jumped on it. The Ocoee River is about 1.5 hours up 575N into Tennessee. Its absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful up there. We almost forgot about our groupon though and it was about to expire so we decided to take a day off work and go up there. We had sooo much fun! The weather was perfect, the water felt great and we had a lot of fun on the river. I always get so disappointed when the trip is over. It leaves me wanting more. Next time we will have to do an all day trip on the entire river, with a lunch! We have another Groupon or Crowd Cut for rafting that we have to use by the end of summer so we are really looking forward to going back up there!

Our latest thing we tried out was Zip-lining. This trip can cost anywhere between $65-$80 and we got the deal for about $30. Again, why wouldn't we buy this!!! Zip-lining is the latest thing down here, and around the US for that matter. It's such an adrenaline rush! I was soo nervous before. I'm not necessarily afraid of heights, but my stomach was definitely churning when we got up to the first platform. After about 2 of the ziplines, I felt comfortable and we were really enjoying it. It was about 9 zip lines and 2 sky bridges. All through the national forest up near the Ocoee River, TN. Check out our pictures below. We definitely want to go again, whether to the same place or try out the one at Lake Lanier or other places in Ga, Tn, Nc that we have heard about.

So thank you Groupon, Crowd Cut, Living Social, etc for allowing our first 2 months of marriage be so exciting and adventurous. Some people asked us why in the world were we doing these 2 adventurous activities after not even being married for longer than a month, anything could happen to us! Please, this is Robby and I. We love the outdoors, we love trying new things, and its just another way for us to spend more time together getting to know each others fears, interests, loves, etc. We hope to pass this along to our children one day. If anyone ever wants to join us in our adventures, come on!! We love having company but we need commitment from those that want to enjoy it with us. Just because we might not directly invite you, doesn't mean you aren't invited. We always have a blast!!! Can't wait to see what else comes out that we can partake in! :)
