Georgia Publix Half Marathon - 13.1 miles - AGAIN! oh boy

Some of you might remember, probably not, but I ran my first half marathon last year in Nashville. It was a lot of fun and even though the weather was awful and i could barely walk afterwards, I felt so accomplished afterwards and that I can do anything if I really put my mind to it. And with the crazy running fiance that I have, he convinced me to sign up for another half marathon before even completing my first!!!! What was I thinking??!!

Well, that time is here. I haven't trained as much as I did for Nashville, but really, I don't care. I can't wait to run it. Not only is it here in Atlanta, but we get to run 13.1 miles around the city and surrounding areas that I never really get to see or know much about. The weather is supposed to be fantastic this weekend here and I was planning on getting up at 5am anyways to go cheer Robby on so I thought, why not just run it. After working the Expo today for Big Peach, I really got excited again, remembering that feeling while you are running, fans cheering on the sides of the streets just pushing you on. Its a great feeling and I want to say that I continued my running and half marathons. We get a bunch of miles in a week but I haven't really gone further than 5 or 6 miles. So it might be rough but I have a plan to run/walk it so I don't kill my knees again like I did in Nashville, barely crossing the finish line.

Robby will actually be running this one for time, so he will be done in under 2 hours, will then begin to try to find me, hours behind. haha. I ran the Nashville in exactly 3 hours flat so I would love to finish in the same time, maybe a little over would be fine too. But most of all, i just want to cross that finish line feeling so good and earning that medal. The race starts at 7 but depending on my coral start time, I might not be starting until 745 or 8 so that puts me finishing around 11. Wish me luck and I hope I don't run into any problems, especially since I have been told its a hilly course.

I will report back once completed, I think it might be time for me to buy one of those stickers that says 13.1 :) I might be in one of those clubs now that I will have 2 under my belt. We will see......

Hope everyone gets out and enjoys this weather!!

Oh and a quick wedding update - we are almost under the 50 day mark. Mom and I will be headed to see the ladies who will be doing our bouquets on Saturday. Should be fun to discuss the colors and different flowers we will be using. Getting sooooo close and we are definitely ready!
