Wwwhhheeeww! What a busy, yet productive weekend! It seems like most of our weekends ahead are filling up quickly. Lets start with wedding stuff first! Saturday morning we went to the Roswell Mill Club to view a potential wedding reception venue. I am not sure why, but I have loved this place for years! Maybe because of the history of the Mill, or maybe just the gorgeous scenery down there. It was so much fun. We met with the wedding planner and she showed us around. It was a little smaller than we thought. Especially with a guest list larger than planned. We will definitely keep it on our list. I would like to take my mom back over there to see it and get her opinion. There needs to be something to compare all the others too, right? After finishing up there, we stayed in Roswell for the art/craft festival that was going on. That's what I love about the little town of Roswell (and the Marietta square). It has so much history and they always have something going on down there that involves the community or being outdoors. We just walked around for a few and looked at the different vendors. Saw a lot of great art. Wish my wallet was a tad bit larger so I could have stocked up on a few Christmas gifts.
Next, we needed to stop by the bike shop to see if Robby's bike needed a tune up. Robby is competing in the Augusta Half Ironman next weekend. For those of you that are not familiar with the Ironman, it is a 1.2 mile swim (in a lake), 56 mile bike ride, and then finish off with a half marathon - 13.1 miles. I know what your thinking. ARE YOU CRAZY!! Well, yes, he is. But this is something I love about him. He has goals in life and works hard at accomplishing them. If he survives, which I know he will, just might not be able to walk for a few hours, I will post pictures and let you know how it went.
Now on to the house renovations. There are a few projects around Robby's house that he is wanting to get done. He has been wanting to close in his garage and make the basement a little larger. He had 2 windows he needed to do something with so his dad mentioned putting them on the new wall when enclosing the garage. Mr. Badger has worked hard the past couple of weeks, with the help of Robby, to build the new walls, add the windows, and shift the door. It looks awesome!! They still have the siding to finish but this weekend we got some painting done. We picked out a brick red paint color to use on both doors. If anyone knows about painting with red, IT IS WORK!! Especially being the perfectionist that I am (or can be). Lets just say it took all afternoon on Saturday and maybe 4 coats of paint. I lost count after 3 so it was probably more like 5 or 6. I also worked on the front door today and got most of it done. Still have a few more coats to go. Don't think that Robby left me out there to slave over the doors. He was busy working on getting the house painted. Robby loves working around his house and in the yard. I enjoy it too, but tire out a little quicker than he does. We are so excited to have this project finished and start having friends over! Hopefully before winter. :)
Below are some pictures of the work in progress.
View from the driveway of the new windows and door. The whole wall will get new siding and paint (same color as the bottom part)
The door that took forever to paint! But I LOVE IT.

Work in progress. Has a few more coats than this on it now.

Maybe we should keep the green painting tape on there. Its like Christmas all year round. What you think?
